The Bang Bang Bar

In Collaboration with Soup

The Bang Bang Bar mural project was a transformative experience that allowed me to explore new creative techniques, collaborate closely with talented partners, and document the journey through a multi-part storytelling series.

Throughout the project, I learned the value of stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things. The incredible support and hospitality from The Bang Bang Bar made it all possible, and having Soup as my partner brought patience, kindness, and a collaborative spirit to the process.

This project also marked an exciting dive into learning Adobe Fresco. While Adobe Photoshop served as the foundation for quick concept art turnarounds, Adobe Fresco became essential for refining the creative direction and bringing the vision to life.

As an artist, I’ve faced the familiar challenges of self-doubt and vulnerability in the creative process. This mural taught me to embrace the discomfort and grow through it—a sentiment that Soup and I often remind ourselves with the mantra:

“We don’t give up,
we won’t surrender,
and we’re not dying today.”

Reflecting on this project has been a joy. It’s a testament to the power of community and storytelling in art. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with my loving partner, Soup, whose mastery of photo-realism and vibrant mural work is widely recognized as Los Otros Murals, and for the chance to bring my passion for creative direction and storytelling to life through KAYE.

I look forward to taking on more projects like this and sharing the stories behind them. Thank you for being part of this journey with me! ❤️
